We either keep our money in FD (Fixed Deposit) /Savings accounts and we get interests on the capital amount .   Although the interest amount may be small or big, the question arises "what to do with the Interest money which is added by the bank into our account"?     For example I have "Salaried Account" in a Savings Bank (which the employer has opened for me). If I was given the choice I would have definitely opened as "Current Account" (non-interest paying account). But now what should I do ?   I am sure there will be many people ,just like me in various countries and not necessary that they may be aware of the ruling.   Allah Says in Quran, "O you who believe! Eat not Riba (usury/interest) doubled and multiplied, but fear Allâh that you may be successful." (Imran,3:130) In that case, What I do ??? After April 1st ( Yearly Closing of bank ), I just check how much money I have received as interest in my account in the entire year.   That  interest money I withdraw from the bank and keep it in a different place. I also make sure that it is  not be mix with my Halal household money nor is used for my daily expenditure nor for our personal necessities .   I make sure that I spend this money only on poor (either by giving in charity in one go or in phases) WITHOUT the intention of  seeking reward from Allah swt, because it is not counted as charity (Sadqat) /Alms (Zakat) etc.     Charity/Zakat only implies from our OWN money/Halal earnings. Whereas the interest money ,that banks gives us on our deposit/savings, is in fact NOT ours. So it is haraam to have and consume it.     Remember, interest money is Haraam . So CANNOT be given to mosque or for other Islamic purpose. Misconception among Muslim ummah : 1: This interest money we can give to masjid to build toilets/abulution rooms/etc. Answer is NO. Because it is part of the masjid. 2: Some muftis say in todays age where govt taxes our income , it is acceptable to take/use "Interest Money" Answer is NO. Just because 1 or 2 or even if the whole ummah says "haraam" as "halal".... It would be still "haraam". The haraam ruling has been given not by you or me but by Allah swt in the Quraan "O you who believe! Be afraid of Allaah and  give up what remains (due to you) from Ribaa if you are (really) believers." (al-Baqarah:278) And then He WARNS us: "And if you do not do it, then take  a notice of war from Allaah and His Messenger, but if you repent, you shall have  your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums),  and you shall not be dealt with unjustly." [al-Baqarah:279] So , if you still want to take interest money then be prepared to have a WAR with Allah swt and his Messenger (pbuh). Taking of Interest is forbidden by Allah swt.   A.You will be possessed by a Jinn on the Day of Judgment [The Noble Qur'aan, Soorah Al-Baqarah - 2:275]   B. It is a declaration of war with Allaah. [The Noble Quraan, Soorah Al-Baqarah 2:279] C.It is a punishment in the grave. You will have you grave turned into a pool of blood and angels will be throwing rocks into you face and that will make you drown. [Saheeh Bukhaari, Volume 2, Book 23, # 468]   D. It is one of the destructive sins. [Saheeh Bukhaari, Volume 8, Book 82, # 840]   E. The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade paying/receing it. [Saheeh Bukhaari, Volume 3, Book 34, # 299]   F. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Interest has 70 levels, and the least serious of which is equivalent to a man performing incest (intercourse) with his own mother." [Saheeh al – Jaami as – Sagheer, Volume 1, #3541]   G. The payer and receiver are cursed. While reading such comments, it makes us wonder at many times if the person is arguing for the sake of proving their point, or rather for the Truth to be known. If the argument is for the sake of proving their point only, then this is what is said in the Hadith: "Whoever sought knowledge for the purpose of using it to compete with the learned or showing ability to be contentious (tending to argument or strife; quarrelsome) with stupid people, or to draw peoples attention to him, Allah will put him in hell." [Authenticated by Al-Tirmidthi, on the relation of Kab Ibn Malik] If the argument is rather for the Truth to be known, then this is what is said in the Quran: There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut (idol worship/false gods) and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. [Noble Quran 2:256] "So (O Prophet) exhort them (to the right path). (for) Your task is only to exhort. You cannot compel them (to accept the truth). Whosoever turns away and disbelieves, Allah will punish him with a mighty punishment. Surely to Us they will have to return, then it will be upon Us to call them to account (for what they used to do)." [Noble Quran 88:21-26] According to the above Ayat, we should only let the Truth be known but not enforce it on anyone because the Truth is self-apparent. In the end, we can only pray that Allah guides them to the right path. When we argue, the devil joins us! Once the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting with his Companions, and one person used insulting words against Abu Bakr causing him pain. But Abu Bakr remained silent. The person again used bitter words against Abu Bakr, and still Abu Bakr did not respond. The third time when this ignorant person hurt Abu Bakr with his tongue, Abu Bakr tried answering back. At this point the Prophet (pbuh) got up. Abu Bakr asked him, "Are you displeased with me ?" The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No, but (when you remained silent) an angel came down from the heaven responding to this mans talk. But the moment you started replying to that man, the angel went away and the devil sat down. And I cannot sit where the devil is sitting." [Abu Dawud] Some points to remember if we are involved in an argument: (whether here on the Internet or in person) 1. "Invite (all) to the way of the Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth, best who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance." (The Quran 16.125). First of all, if the topic of dispute is not an Islamic one, then it is better to be quiet and not waste our time and effort on something that is not beneficial. If it is in regards to Islam, then as the above Ayah states, we must be polite and choose our words carefully. We should not insult, curse, swear, or get angry. We should always remember that we are representing how a Muslim behaves to everyone around us [I.e. Adults and kids]. We should not do anything to blemish the image of an Ideal Muslim. 2. We should keep an open mind. Sometimes because of our limited knowledge, we believe that our opinion is the correct one. However, it could be that the other persons argument could actually be the Truth. 3. We should not assume that there is only one correct answer. There are many topics that have different opinions between the Scholars. We may believe one to be true, but that does not mean the other person is wrong. However, what is stated as Haram is Haram, Halal is Halal, and doubtful is better to avoid as per the below Hadith: Prophet Muhammad [SallAllahu Alayhi Wasallam] is reported to have said:"Halal is clear and Haram is clear; in between these two are certain things that are suspected. Many people may not know whether those items are Halal or Haram. Whosoever leaves them, he is innocent towards his religion and his conscience. He is, therefore, safe. Anyone who gets involved in any of these suspected items, he may fall into the unlawful and the prohibited. This case is similar to the one who wished to raise his animals too close to a restricted area, so that the animals may step into that area. Indeed for every landlord there is a restricted area. Indeed the restriction of Allah are the Haram." (Sahih Bukhari & Sahih Muslim) 4. Our intention should only be to inform the other person of the Truth. It should not be to make them think that we are right, or that we are very knowledgeable, or to make them feel inferior. 5. We should only provide guidance given in the Quran and Hadith with reference in regards to the topic of dispute. We should not include our personal opinions or present day scenarios. We should remember that Islam is a perfect religion for all times. 6. Lastly, if we do not have any knowledge of the topic, then we should not try to get involved just for the sake of argument. This will not only take a lot of our time and effort, but in the end it might make us lose some respect in the minds of others. Finally, we should always remember this Hadith when we are involved in an argument: "I guarantee a house in Jannah for one who gives up arguing, even if he is in the right; and I guarantee a home in the middle of Jannah for one who abandons lying even for the sake of fun; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Jannah for one who has good manners.'' -------Original Message-------  From: Umair Altaf Date: 15-10-2010 01:08:50 PM Subject: SAIB (APPLE) HARAM HAY!!!!       بسم اللہ الرحمٰن الرحیم السلامُ علیکم و رحمۃ اللہ و برکاتہ سیب حرام ہے!   عربی فورمز پر یہ مضمون  بکثرت دیکھا جا سکتا ہے،تھوڑی سی ردوبدل کے ساتھ اسکا ترجمہ آپکی خدمت میں حاضر خدمت ہے۔     یہ ایک شخص کی آب بیتی ہے جو کہتا ہے کہ: میں مسجد میں تحیۃ المسجد ادا کر رہا تھا کہ سگریٹ کی ناگوار بدبو نے مجھے بے چین کر کے رکھ دیا، خشوع و خضوع قائم رکھنا تو بعد کی بات تھی بدبو کی شدت سے نماز پوری کرنا بھی محال لگ رہا تھا۔ سلام پھیر کر دیکھا تو قریب ہی ایک آدمی نماز  ادا کر رہا تھا۔ سگریٹ نوشی کی کثرت سے اس کے ہونٹ سیاہ پڑ چکے تھے۔ میں نے سوچا یہ نماز سے فارغ ہو چکے تو اس سے بات کرونگا، شاید میری نصیحت سے اس پر کوئی مثبت اثر پڑ جائے۔   لیکن مجھے اس وقت حیرت کا سامنا کرنا پڑا جب اس شخص کے ساتھ بیٹھے ایک نوجوان نے اسکی نماز سے فراغت پر مجھ سے پہلے ہی  اس سے گفتگو کرنا شروع کی، سننے کیلئے میں نے بھی کان لگائے تو کچھ اس قسم کی بات چیت ہو رہی تھی:   نوجوان: السلام و علیکم، چچا آپ کون ہیں؟ وہ آدمی: میں ۔۔۔۔۔ ہوں۔   نوجوان: چچا، کیا آپ نے شيخ عبدا لحميد كشك کا نام سنا ہے؟ وہ آدمی: جی، میں جانتا ہوں انہیں۔   نوجوان: اچھا تو آپ شيخ جاد الحق کو بھی جانتے ہونگے؟ وہ آدمی: جی، میں انہیں بھی جانتا ہوں۔ نوجوان: تو آپ شيخ محمد الغزالی کو بھی جانتے ہیں؟ وہ آدمی: جی، میں انہیں بھی اچھی طرح جانتا ہوں۔   نوجوان: تو  پھر آپ ان کی کیسٹیں اور فتاویٰ جات بھی سنتے ہونگے ناں؟ وہ آدمی: جی، میں ان کی کیسٹیں بھی سنتا ہوں اور انکے فتاویٰ جات بھی۔   نوجوان: آپ جانتے ہیں ناں یہ سارے شیوخ سگریٹ کو حرام کہتے ہیں، تو پھر آپ کیوں پیتے ہیں سگریٹ؟ وہ آدمی: (جو  اب اس ساری گفتگو سے بیزاری سی محسوس کر رہا تھا) نہیں سگریٹ نوشی حرام  نہیں ہے۔   نوجوان: نہیں،  حرام ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ کا ارشاد بھی تو یہی ہے ناں کہ (پلید چیزوں کو تم پر حرام کر دیا گیا ہے)۔ کیا کبھی سگریٹ شروع کرتے  وقت آپ نے بسم اللہ پڑھی ہے یا سگریٹ ختم ہونے پر الحمدللہ کہی ہے؟ وہ آدمی: (تقریبا بھناتے ہوئے) مجھے قرآن شریف کی ایک آیت دکھا دو جس میں کہا گیا ہو کہ (ويحرم عليكم الدخان) اور ہم نے تم پر سگریٹ نوشی حرام قرار دی ہے۔     نوجوان: چچا یقین کیجیئے اسلام میں سگریٹ نوشی بالکل ویسے ہی حرام ہے جس طرح  سیب حرام ہے۔ اس  آدمی کا صبر کا پیمانہ لبریز ہی ہو چکا تھا، جھلاتے ہوئے خونخوار لہجے میں بولا اوئے لڑکے، تو ہوتا کون ہے کہ جس چیز کو چاہے حرام قرار  دے اور جس چیز کو  چاہے حلال قرار دیدے؟   وہ نوجوان نہایت ہی تحمل سے بولا کہ پھر لایئے اک آیت جس میں لکھا ہو کہ (ويحل لکم التفاح) اور ہم نے تم پر سیب کو حلال کر دیا ہے۔   نوجوان کی گفتگو نے اس آدمی کو ششدر ہی کر کے رکھ دیا تھا، ایسا لگ رہا تھا کہ اب رویا کہ تب، مسجد میں اقامت کی آواز گونج اٹھی تھی اور لوگ جماعت کیلیئے کھڑے ہو رہے تھے۔   نماز کے بعد وہ آدمی پھر اس نوجوان کی طرف متوجہ ہوا اور بولا دیکھو نوجوان، میں اللہ کی قسم کھا کر کہتا ہوں کہ آئندہ کبھی سگریٹ نوشی نہیں کرونگا۔     سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتْوبُ إِلَيْكَ .   الْلَّهُم صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَعَلَى آَل مُحَمِّد كَمَا صَلَّيْت عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيْم وَآَل إِبْرَاهِيْم إِنَّك حَمِيْد مَجِيْد الْلَّهُم بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَعَلَى آَل مُحَمِّد كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيْم وَآَل إِبْرَاهِيْم إِنَّك حَمِيْد مَجِيْد          . __,_._,___
