HIS POSITION IN THE SILSILA: Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu is the Sixth Imam and Shaykh of the Silsila Aaliyah Qadiriyah Barakatiyah Ridawiyyah Nooriyah. Much has been said in his praise by many great scholars.

BIRTH: He was born on a Monday, the 7th of Rabi ul Awwal in either 80 or 83 Hijri in Madinah Munawwarah. [Masaalik as-Saalikeen, Vol.1, Page 217]

HIS NAME: His name was Jaafar bin Muhammad, and he was also known as Abu Abdullah and Abu Ismaeel. His titles were Saadiq, Faadil and Taahir.

HIS MOTHER: His mother's name was Umm-e-Fardah who was the daughter of Hadrat Qasim Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, the grandson of Hadrat Abu Bakr Siddique Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu and Hadrat Qasim's Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu mother, A'asma Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu is the daughter of Hadrat Abdur Rahmaan, the son of Hadrat Abu Bakr Siddique Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu.

HIS FEATURES: He was very handsome and had a radiant appearance. He had the perfect height, and was tan in complexion. He encompassed the exemplary qualities his forefathers. Haafiz Abu Nuaim Isfahani narrates in Khalifatul Abraar on the authority of Umar bin Midqaam, "When I used to look at Hadrat Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu then I used to immediately feel that he was from amongst the descendants of the Prophets"

EXCELLENCE: He was without doubt the true successor to the Muslim empire and one of the greatest Imams of his era. Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu was a great Aabid and Sufi. Many secrets of Tasawwuf were explained by him. It is in Tabqaatul Abraar, that he received the authority of Hadith from his blessed father, from Imam Zuhri and Naaf'i and ibn Munkadir etc. and Sufyaan Sawri, Ibn Ainiyyah, Shu'ba, Yahya Al Qataan, Imam Maalik and his son Imam Moosa Kaazim (ridwaanullahi ta aala alaihim ajmaeen) attained this authority of Hadith from him. Allama Ibn Hajar Makki Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu writes in Sawaa'iq Muhariqa . "The exalted Imams such as Yahya Bin Saeed, Ibn Jareeh, Imam Maalik ibn Anas, Imam Sufyaan Sawri, Sufyan bin Ainiyyah, Imam Abu Hanifa and Abu Ayoob Sajistani (ridwaanullahi ta aala alaihim ajmaeen) took Hadith from him." [Masaalik as-Saalikeen]

HIS CHARACTER: He was a very exalted and pious personality. His inner and outer appearance exuded brightness and radiance. He addressed the poor and the downtrodden with great love. Once he called all his servants and said, "Let us give our hands in the hands of one another and promise that whichever one of us first receives salvation on the day of Qiyaamah, he will intercede for the rest of us." On hearing this, they said, "O Ibn Rasool SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam! For what reason do you need our intercession, when your beloved forefather Rasoolullah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam will intercede for the entire creation?" He then said, "I am ashamed to take my deeds and stand before my forefather, the Holy Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam."

Once Hadrat Dawood Taa'ee Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu came to Hadrat Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu and said, "Beloved descendant of the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam please give some advice, as my heart has become dark." Hadrat Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said, "O Abu Sulaiman! You are great Zaahid of your era. What need do you have for my advice?" Hadrat Dawood Taa'ee Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said, "O descendant of the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam, You have been blessed with excellence amongst people and to advise everyone is compulsory upon you." He then said, "O Abu Sulaiman! I fear that on the day of Qiyaamah, my forefather Muhammadur Rasoolullah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam will hold me by my collar and ask, 'Why were you slow in fulfilling your right to submission?' What will I say then? Thus, this deed (of advice) does not depend on ones stature or family lineage, but it deals with good deeds which are done in the Court of Allah." Hadrat Dawood Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu heard this and began to weep. He then said, "O Allah! When such a great personality, who is the descendant of a Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam, and whose reality is filled with light and wisdom, and whose great grandmother is Bibi Faatima, is so afraid of his future and condition, then what right does Dawood Taa'ee have do be proud of his deeds?" [Masaalik as-Saalikeen]

HIS IBAADAT: He was well known for his ibaadat, and his striving in the Court of Allah. Hadrat Imam Malik Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu says, "I spent a very long time serving him, and I always found him in one of three Ibaadats. Either he was in namaaz, or engrossed in recitation of the Quran, or he would be fasting." He never narrated any Hadith Shareef without wudhu. [Tazkirat al-Awliya]

HIS DUA: He was without doubt a faithful servant of Allah, and he always attained everything that he asked for from the Court of Allah. Abul Qasim Tabri narrates from Wahab, that he heard Laith bin Sa'ad Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu saying, "I was on my way to Hajj by foot in 113 Hijri and I reached Makkah Muazammah. I reached Jabl Abu Qubais close to the time of Asr Salaah. There, I saw a pious man sitting (in seclusion), making dua. He was saying 'Ya Rabbi Ya Rabbi' so many times, that breathing became difficult. Then in the same way, he said 'Ya Hayy Ya Hayy' then 'Ya Rab'bahu Ya Rab'bahu, then in the same say, he said 'Ya Allah Ya Allah' in one breath continuously. He then said 'Ya Rahmaanu Ya Rahmaanu, Ya Raheemu Ya Raheemu' and then he went on to say 'Ya Arhamar Raahimeen'. He then said, "O Allah I desire to eat grapes. Please bless me with some, and my clothes have become old and tattered Please give me new ones."

Hadrat Laith says, "By Allah, he was still competing his dua, when I saw a basket of grapes kept before him, whereas it was not event the grape season and I did not see an grapes near him before his dua. I also saw that there were two pieces of cloth kept near the grapes. I have never seen such beautiful material before. He then sat down to eat the grapes. I went up to him and said, Huzoor! May I also have a part in this?, and he asked how this was so, so I said, I was saying Aameen as you made the dua. He said, 'Well then, step forward and join me.' I also began to partake in the grapes. They were so tasty, that never have I eaten such delicious grapes. I ate until I was satisfied, but the basket still remained as it was before, full of grapes. He then offered on piece of cloth to me, and I said that I had no need for it, so he tied one around his waist, and he draped the other over his shoulder. He then descended from the mountain and I followed him. As he drew close to Saffa and Marwa, a beggar called out to him and said, 'O Descendant of the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam! Give these clothes to me and Allah will dress you in the clothes of Jannat." He immediately gave the two pieces of cloth to the beggar. (On seeing this), I enquired about the identity of this pious man from the beggar, who informed me that he was Hadrat Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. I then looked for him so that I may listen to some words of wisdom from him and attain his blessings, but he had disappeared from my sight." [Tazkirat al-Awliya, Page 12]

Once, some people saw that Hadrat Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu was wearing a very expensive robe. One of them walked up to him and said, "Huzoor! It is not good for the Ahle Bait to wear such expensive clothing." He caught hold of the man's hand and thrust it into his sleeves. The man was amazed when he found that a Hadrat was wearing clothes make from sacks under his robe. Hadrat Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu then said, "The one inside is for my Creator and the one on top is for the creation."

A man once lost his purse which contained one thousand dinaars. Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu was walking close to him, so he held the hand of the Imam and accused him of stealing his money. Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu asked how much he had in his money bag, and the man said that he had one thousand dinaars. Hadrat took him home and gave him one thousand dinaars from his wealth. The next day, the man found his money bag, and came rushing to Hadrat Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu to return the money he had taken from him. Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said, "We do not take back what we have already given." The man then asked some people who this person was, and he was told that it was Hadrat Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. When he heard this, he became very sad and regretted his behavior. [Tazkirat al-Awliya]

DEBATE WITH AN ATHEIST: Hadrat Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu spent a lot of his time spreading the word of Allah and His Rasool SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam. He always spoke against those who did not believe in Allah. An atheist from Egypt came to Hadrat Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu whilst he was in Makkah. Hadrat Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu asked his name and he said that his name was Abdul Malik and he was also known as Abdullah. On hearing this Hadrat said, "Malik, whose servant you are, is he from the Kingdom of the Skies or the Kingdom of the earth, the Lord that is the Lord of your son, is he the Lord of the skies or the Lord of the Earths?" The atheist could not answer this question. Hadrat then said, "Did you ever journey under the earth? Do you know what is beyond it?" He replied in the negative and said, "I think there is nothing beyond it." Hadrat then said to him, "Thinking is not sufficient! However, have you ever flown into the skies and journeyed beyond the skies?" Again he replied in the negative. Hadrat said, "Did you ever travel the entire East and West and did you realise anything about the future from this?" Again he answered in the negative. Hadrat said, "I am amazed, that you are not aware of the earth and what is beneath it, and the sky and what is beyond it, and in this state of ignorance, you still have the arrogance to reject the existence of Allah. O Ignorant man! There is no argument for one who is naive about that which is a reality. The sun, the moon, the night and day, are all in a specific pattern. Verily they are within some divine control. If they were free, then they would move as they willed and would sometimes go to an appointed spot and not return. Why is it that the night does not take the place of day and the day does not take the place of night? Do you not ponder upon the reality of the skies and the earth? Why does the sky not come to the earth and why is it that the earth is not flattened by the sky? There is definitely ONE, who has all this in His Divine Control. It is He (Allah) who is All Powerful. It is He, who is our and their Lord." When the atheist heard this, he immediately accepted Islam and had faith in the existence of Allah.

HADRAT BAYAZEED BUSTAAMI: Hadrat Ba Yazeed Bustaami Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu used to distribute water in the Darbaar of Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. Hadrat placed his saintly sight on Hadrat Bayazeed Bustaami Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu once, and he became one of the greatest mystics of his time. He then served in the Court of Hadrat Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu and became one of the greatest Awliya.

IMAM-E-AZAM ABU HANIFA: Hadrat Imam Azam Abu Hanifa Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu attained great blessings from Hadrat Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. It is narrated that once he asked Imam Abu Hanifa Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu concerning who is an intelligent person. Hadrat Imam Abu Hanifa Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said, "He who can differentiate between good and evil is an intelligent man." Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said, "Even animals have the ability to differentiate. It can differentiate between those who love them, beat them or instill fear in them?" Imam Abu Hanifa Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu then said, "O Hadrat! Would you please explain who is truly intelligent?" Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said, "An intelligent person, is one who can differentiate between two good things and two evils, so that he may choose the better of two good things and that he may be able to repel the worse of two evils."

SHAYKH-E-TARIQAT: He was the mureed and Khalifa of Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Baaqir Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu and attained great blessings from his beloved father.

BOOKS AND TREATIES: Hadrat has also written books on numerous topics, as mentioned by scholars like Imam Kamaaludeen etc.

KARAAMATS: Hadrat Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu is an example for Muslims in every way. His greatest Karaamat was his firmness on the Shariat. His every step was in accordance with the Sunnat of the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam. A few of his Karaamats are being quoted below.

A MANSION IN JANNAH: Once, a man came to Hadrat Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu before journeying for Hajj. He gave Hadrat 10,000 dirhams, and asked him to purchase a mansion for him before he returned. Instead of purchasing a mansion, Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu distributed the entire 10,000 dirhams in the way of Allah. After the man returned from Hajj, he went to meet Hadrat Imam Jaafar Saadiq Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. Hadrat Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu told him that he had purchased his mansion and then handed the title deed over to him. The title deed read as follows : "One wall of the house is adjoined to the house of the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam, the other wall is adjoined to the house of Hadrat Ali Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, the third wall is adjoined to the house of Imam Hassan Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu and the fourth wall is adjoined to the house of Imam Hussain Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu." The man took this title deed, and asked his family members to place it in his grave when he passed away. After his demise, his family members found the title deed on the top of his grave and on the rear of the title deed the following words were written,

"Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu was honest and loyal in what he said." [Masaalik as-Saalikeen, Vol.1, Page 220]

AMAZING INCIDENT: Once, he was on his way to Hajj, when he stopped to rest under a date tree which was completely dried out. At the time of Chasht, he asked the tree to present him with some dates. Immediately, the tree became green and lush and full of dates. Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu then ate from it. A villager was passing by and saw this. He saw this great karaamat and said that it was magic. Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said,

"This is not magic. Almighty Allah has blessed me with such a quality, that he accepts all my duas. If I make dua, even you can be transformed into a dog." Hadrat had not yet completed what he was saying, when the villager began to resemble a dog. He quickly repented and asked Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu to forgive him. Hadrat made dua for him, and he was transformed to his normal self. [Masaalik as-Saalikeen, Vol.1, Page 223]

KHALIFA MANSOOR: Khalifa Mansoor once sent one of his ministers to summon Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu to his Court. He informed his servants that when Imam Jaafar arrived, they should wait for him (Mansoor) to remove his crown. The moment he did this, they should martyr Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. When the minister heard this, he was not pleased and thus tried to explain to Mansoor, how wrong it was to kill a pious person, who is also a Sayyid. The Khalifa did not take heed and had Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu summoned. When Hadrat Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu arrived, the servants waited for their cue, so that they may martyr Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. Instead, Mansoor woke up from his throne and rushed towards the Imam. He brought him towards his throne and allowed him to sit on it with great respect, whilst he sat on the ground in front of the great Imam. The servants and ministers were surprised to see this sudden change in plan. Mansoor then asked the Imam if he had any requests. Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu said,"In future you should not summon me to your court, as I wish to remain engrossed in Ibaadat."

When he heard these words, his body began to tremble and he allowed the Imam to leave with respect. When the Imam left, the minister asked about the sudden change in plan and Mansoor said, "When Imam Jaafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu entered my court, I saw a huge python with him. The python had its one lip over my throne and one under my throne, and it spoke to me and said that if I tried to ever harm the Imam, then he would consume me with my throne, and that is why I behaved in the manner which I did."

All praise belongs to Allah who made our Master Abu Bakr, the truthful, the best of this nation and raised his rank above all ranks lofty by certainty and truthfulness. I praise Him with the praise of creation. I testify that there is no deity except Allah, the One, He has no partner, speech that widens every restriction, I testify that Muhammad is his servant, his messenger, the Prophet of mercy (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him), his family, his companions, his partners, his offspring and those worthy of guidance and success.

Following are Twenty Two (22) Ahadith (Sacred Traditions) out of many, in accordance to the 22nd Jumada al-Aakhir, the date of his Wisaal (passing away), chosen to be read, memorized and shared for whoever desires piety. I ask Allah to benefit us by connection to him and to gather us and you in the Dar Al-Zalafa (the house of proximity) with him, with Muhammad (may Allah bestow peace and blessings be upon him and his family) O Allah accept, O Allah accept, O Allah accept.

1. Shaykh Ibn 'Abdi Rabbihi narrates in his book Bahjat al-Majaalis that the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him) has said:

"A throne will be placed near the siraat (bridge) on the Day of Judgement. An Angel will appear and will stand on its first step. The Angel will announce, "O Muslims! Those who have recognized me have indeed recognized me, and those who have not then they should know that I am the Maalik of the hellfire. I have been ordered by Allah to hand over the keys of hell to Muhammad and Muhammad has ordered me to hand over the keys to Abu Bakr. Yes! Yes! Bear witness! Bear Witness!"
Then a second Angel will come and will stand on the second step of the throne and will say, "O Muslims! Those who have recognized me have indeed recognized me, and those who have not then they should know that I am Ridwan of Jannah [paradise]. I have been ordered by Allah to hand over the keys of paradise to Muhammad and it is the order of Muhammad that I hand over the keys to Abu Bakr. Yes! Yes! Bear witness! Bear Witness!"

(This hadith has also been mentioned by Allama Ibrahim bin Abdullah al-Madani al-Shafi'i in the seventh chapter, Al-Tahqiq if Fadli Al-Siddiq, in his book, Al-Iktifa If Fadli al-Arba'ati al-Khulafa.)

2. Ameer al-Mu'mineen Umar al-Farooq Radi Allahu Anhu narrated that

When the Prophet of Allah asked us to give Sadaqah, coincidentally I had much wealth that day. I said to myself that if I was to beat Abu Bakr Siddiq, then this is the day. I brought half of my wealth to the Prophet. The Prophet asked, "What have you left for you family?" I said, "I have left some for them." "But how much?" the Prophet asked. I replied, "The same amount."
Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq Radi Allahu Anhu came with all of his wealth. The Prophet asked, "What have you left for your family?" He replied, "I have left for them Allah and His Prophet."

Sayyiduna Umar Radi Allahu Anhu said, "I will never surpass Abu Bakr."

(Narrated by Darimi, Abu Da'ud, Tirmidhi and said that this is a Hasan and Sahih Hadith. Also narrated by Nasa'i, ibn Abi 'Asim, ibn Shahin in his Sunnan, Hakim in Mustadrik, Abu Nu'aym in al-Hilya, Baihaqi in Sunan and Diya in al-Mukhtar. All narrated from Ameer al-Mu'mineen Umar Radi Allahu Anhu.)

3. The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him) said:

"No wealth has benefited me much like the wealth of Abu Bakr." Hearing this Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq RadiAllahu Anhu cried and said: "No one owns my life or my wealth except you O Messenger of Allah!" (Narrated by Ahmad in his Musnad, through a Sahih chain, from Abu Hurairah RadiAllahu Anhu). [Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal, narrated from Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu Anhu, (Al-Maktab al-Islamiy, Beirut), Vol. 2, Page 253]

Taken from Abu Nu'aym, on the virtue of the companions, who narrates as follows,

"Do you walk after him and he is better than you?" "Do you not know that the sun does not rise or set on anyone better than Abu Bakr? The sun has not risen or set upon anyone better than Abu Bakr except the Prophets and the Messengers."

FW: Our Daughters are a Blessing, Not a Burden!!

Subject: Our Daughters are a Blessing, Not a Burden!!

Allah Almighty, through the Waseela of His Beloved SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam have once again blessed me with His RaHmah, A Baby Girl al Hamdu Lillah on Wednesday, 29th Jumada al-Awwal i.e. 10th April 2013 at 3:30pm approx. All my brothers and sisters are requested to keep our daughters remembered in their pious and precious prayers... May Allah bless you immensely with the better reward!!

https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/524276_10151352864385334_299420066_n.jpg

OUR DAUGHTERS ARE A BLESSING, NOT A BURDEN!!

Children are no doubt a great gift from Almighty Allah to all parents. Parents must think of their children as such treasures that the all the wealth and material resources are worthless as when compared to one's children. We, as parents, should thank and be grateful to Almighty Allah for blessing us with children whether they are boys or girls. Today, it is quite disheartening to see that some parents rejoice when the newborn child is a male and show their dissatisfaction when the child is a female. But, this should not be the attitude. Islam does not condone this type of behavior, as such was the manner of the parents in the time of ignorance.

In pre-Islamic times, the Arabs used to be disheartened and annoyed with the birth of girls, so that a father, when informed his wife had given birth to a girl, said,
"By Allah she is not as blissful as a son; her defense is crying and her care is but stealing!"

He meant she could not defend her father and her family except by screaming and crying, not by fighting and carrying arms. She also cannot be good to them and care for them except by taking from her husband's money to give to her family. Their traditions allowed the father to bury his daughter alive for actual poverty, or for expected poverty, or out of fear of a disgrace she might bring upon them when she grew up. In that context, the Qur'an says, denouncing and derogating them:

"And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. Upon what sin was she killed for." [Surah al-Takweer, Verses 8-9]

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/541851_10151352866760334_107864869_n.jpg

The Qur'an also describes the condition of fathers when daughters were born:

"And when one among of them receives the glad tidings of a daughter, his face turns black for the day, and he remains seething. Hiding from the people because of the evil of the tidings; "Will he keep her with disgrace, or bury her beneath the earth?"; pay heed! Very evil is the judgment they impose!"  [Surah al-Nahl, Verse 58-59]

The Qur'an led an uncompromising campaign against those cruel people who kill children-whether male or female. Allah says in the Qur'an:

"Indeed ruined are those who slay their children out of senseless ignorance and forbid the sustenance which Allah has bestowed upon them, in order to fabricate lies against Allah; they have undoubtedly gone astray and not attained the path." [Surah al-Anaam, Verse 140]

And Allah Almighty says:

"And do not kill your children, fearing poverty; We shall provide sustenance to them as well as to you; indeed killing them is a great mistake." [Surah Bani Israel, Verse 31]

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/562596_10151352867855334_573390178_n.jpg

Some ancient laws gave the father the right to sell his daughter if he wished; while others allowed him to hand her to another man who would either kill her or own her if the father killed the other man's daughter.

When Islam was revealed, it decreed a daughter - like a son - was a gift from Allah, to be granted to whomever Allah wishes of His worshipers:

"For Allah only is the kingship of the heavens and the earth; He creates whatever He wills; He may bestow daughters to whomever He wills, and sons to whomever He wills. Or may mix them, the sons and daughters; and may make barren whomever He wills; indeed He is All Knowing, Able." [Surah al-Shoora, Verses 49-50]
The Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) of Islam made Paradise the recompense of every father who conducts himself well with his daughters, has patience in raising them, provides their moral education, and observes Allah's commands concerning them until they come of age or until his . The Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) made the place of the father in Paradise next to him. Hadrat Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam said,

"Whoever brings up two girls till they reach the age of puberty, he and I will come on the Day of Resurrection like this," (and he joined his blessed fingers.)

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/580341_10151352867360334_476817444_n.jpg

The beloved Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) has stated that

"When a boy is born, then he brings one Noor (light) and when a girl is born, then she brings two Noors."

It has been narrated in a Hadith that the Holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) has stated that

"If parents are kind and generous towards their daughters, then they will be so close to Him (The Holy Prophet Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) in Jannah, like one finger is to the next."

The Holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) has also stated that

"The person who is faced with hardship due to his daughters, and makes Sabr (is patient), then his daughters will be a Pardah (curtain) between him and the Hell-fire."
Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam said,

"...and whoever brings up three daughters or a like number of sisters, training them well and showing kindness to them till Allah enriches them (i.e. till they reach the age of puberty), Allah will guarantee Paradise for him." A man asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Does this apply to two also?" He said: "even to two." If they had asked whether to one also, the Messenger of Allah would have said that, "even to one..."

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/17300_10151352868485334_1464826509_n.jpg

Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) recounted,

"Whoever had a female who was not buried nor insulted by him, and had not preferred his male children to her, Allah admits him to Paradise."
Daughters are without doubt a great blessing from Almighty Allah. They are a means of salvation and a path to Jannah (Heaven) for their parents. The crux of one narration states that

"One who loves his daughters and withstands the hardship of grooming and getting them married, Almighty Allah makes Jannah compulsory (Waajib) on him and keeps him protected from the Fire of Hell."

And in another Hadith, the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam said:

"They will be a shield for him from the Fire."

The beloved Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam commanded:

"Whenever you buy anything from the market place first present it to your female children then to your male children."
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/536250_10151352870600334_747544524_n.jpg

Hadrat Khwaja Uthman al-Haaroni (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu), the Spiritual Guide (Peer-o-Murshid) of Khwaja-e-Khwajgaan, Hadrat Shaykh Mu'een al-Din Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaaz Chishti Ajmeri (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu), states:

"Daughters are a gift from Almighty Allah. Those parents who are kind towards them, then Almighty Allah is generous towards such parents. Those who are merciful to their daughters, Almighty Allah is Merciful towards them."

The great saint, Hadrat Khwaja Uthman Harooni (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) also said,

"When a girl is born to a family, then between the parents and Hell, there shall be a distance of five hundred years."

It has been stated that:

When parents rejoice at the birth of a daughter, this is greater than making Tawaaf of the Kaaba seventy times.

When Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) would hear that one of his relatives or friends had a baby girl, he would say to them,

"Congratulations for the Prophets were mostly fathers of daughters."

https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/522423_10151352871520334_568508435_n.jpg

Muslims should also remember that the family of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) is from his beloved daughter Sayyidah Fatima Zahra (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha).

With these open and authentic texts, with the enhanced and repeated good news, the birth of girls is not at all a fearful burden nor is it a bad omen. On the contrary, it is a blessing to be thanked for and a mercy to be desired and requested because it is a blessing of the Almighty and a reward to be gained.

Dear brothers and sisters! Rejoice on the birth of your daughters, love and guide them and give them that which is due to them from your belongings. Do not deprive them of their inheritance as they also have say in this. Remember! Daughters are a blessing and not a burden.

Subject: Jealousy

In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the All-Compassionate

"May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You"

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Jealousy
From As-Sunnah Bi-Monthly Newsletter (issue 19)
Compiled by Shawana A. Aziz

"Beware of jealousy,
For verily it destroys good deeds
The way fire destroys wood."

Hasad (jealousy and envy) is among the most destructive emotions or feeling which a man may have towards his fellow human being. It causes him to wish evil for others and to be happy when misfortune befalls them.

The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi WA-sallam) warned against envy by comparing it to fire that completely burns the wood. He (sallallahu alaihi WA-sallam) said: "Beware of jealousy, for verily it destroys good deeds the way fire destroys wood." [Abu Dawood]

Hasad is a disease of the heart and it causes impurity to the heart, when Allah Messenger (sallallahu alaihi WA-sallam) was asked who are the best of people? He (sallallahu alaihi WA-sallam) replied: "the one with a clean heart and truthful tongue." They asked: 'We understand a truthful tongue, but what does a clean heart mean?' he answered: 'It is the heart of one that is pious, pure, and is free of sin, transgressions, hatred and Hasad." [Ibn Majah]

Hasad is such a dangerous characteristic that Allah revealed verses of the Quraan to be recited as a protection from the jealous, "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn from the evil of envious when he envies." [Soorah al-Falaq (113): 1]

At-Tirmidhee narrated from al-Zubayr Ibn al-Awam that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi WA-sallam) said: "There has come to you the disease of the nations before you, jealousy and hatred. This is the shaver (destroyer); I do not say that it shaves hair, but that it shaves (destroys) faith" [(Hasan) Jamee at-Tirmidhee (2434)]

Hasad can cause the person to indulge in disbelief because it causes the individual to feel that Allah has not been fair with him; he forgets all the mercy and blessings which Allah has bestowed upon him.

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi WA-sallam) said: "They are enemies for Allahs bounties." They asked: "Who are they?" He said: "Those who envy people for what Allah has given them of Bounty." [at-Tabaranee]

Allah through His Absolute Wisdom has given some people more wealth, intelligence, beauty, strength, children, etc. Than others. The believing Muslim should be content with what Allah has destined for him.

Allah says: "Allah favored some of you over others with wealth and properties, Do they deny the favors of Allah?" [Soorah an-Nahl (16): 71]

And: "Do they envy men for what Allah has given them of His Bounty?" [Soorah an-Nisa (4): 54]

"It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in this world, and We raised some of them above others in ranks, so that some may employ others in their work. But the mercy of your Lord is better." [Soorah AZ-Zukhruf (43): 32] meaning mercy of Allah is better than the convenience of the world. The materials of this life do not make one superior to another in Allah's Judgment. True superiority lies in Taqwa (righteousness, fear of Allah).

He said: "Surely, the most noble of you to Allah is the most God-fearing." [Soorah al-Hujurat (49): 13]

"And the Hereafter with Your Lord is (only) for those who have Taqwa." [Soorah AZ-Zukhruf (43): 35]

The favors of Allah in the world are a test; the more the favors, the more the tests. Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "Umar Ibn Khattab wrote this letter to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, 'Be content with your provision in this world, for the Most Merciful has honored some of His servants over others in terms of provision as a test of both. The one who has been given plenty is being tested to see if he will give thanks to Allah and fulfill the duties which are his by virtue of his wealth" [Ibn Hatim]

Allah, the Exalted, has therefore forbidden us from desiring what other have, "Do not wish for what we have favored some of you over others." [Soorah an-Nisa (4): 32]

In order to discourage envy, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: "Do not look to those above you. Look to those below you, as it will more likely remind you of Allah's favors bestowed on you." [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim]

On another occasion, he said: "If one of you looks at someone wealthier and better built than him, he should also look at someone of lower standard than himself." [Saheeh Muslim]

Islam permits Ghibtah

What Islam permits in contrast to Hasad (destructive jealousy) is Ghibtah (envy that is free from malice), which means neither loving the loss of the blessing nor hating for it to remain with the person, but desiring the same for oneself without the removal of the blessing from others.

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: "Envy is allowed in two cases, in case of a man whom Allah has given the Quraan and who recites it throughout night and day; and a man on whom Allah has bestowed wealth who gives it away throughout night and day." [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim] and he (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) also explained what may be said: "I wish I were given what he was given and did with it what he did."

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: "The similitude of the people of this Ummah is like four individual.
One whom Allah has given wealth and knowledge, so he handles his wealth with the knowledge.
One whom Allah has given knowledge but not wealth and he says, 'Lord, should I have wealth like so-and-so I would have handled it like him.' So they both have the same reward. Such a person loves to have wealth like others so he can do good like others without wishing that the others lose their wealth.

Another man, Allah has given him wealth but no knowledge and he spends his wealth in disobedience to Allah.
And last, a man whom Allah has not given knowledge nor wealth but he says, 'Should I have wealth like so-and-so, I would spend it in the way he does.' So, both will have the same sin against them."
[at-Tirmidhee and Ibn Majah]

Some Reasons that cause a person to have Jealousy

Anger and Malice: When one is hurt by someone for any reason, he is angered, and his anger produces malice and urge for revenge in the heart. The slave begins to desire harm for the other person, he enjoys when he sees him in hardships and he may further thinks that Allah has done it to him as an evil reward!

And if the person is blessed with a gift, he grieves and this is Hasad, which does not harm the envied person but it hurts and destroys the Hasid (one who has Hasad) himself.

In order to close the door to this evil Islam advises the Muslims to be forgiving in nature and control ones anger.

Allah says in the Quran: "Those who spend (in Allahs Cause) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men. Verily, Allah loves the good doers." [Soorah al-Imran (3): 134]

Arrogance, Pride and Love for fame: When a person achieves a high status and position in the society or gains wealth, he hates to see someone other than him compete or go ahead of him or be praised over him. So, he envies the former person.

An example of this can be taken of the Jews and their Hasad towards Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) for the Prophet-hood that Allah entrusted him with. Their envy made them reject the divine message given to him, because he was an Arab and not from the Children of Israel. It was their Hasad which caused them to make statements as such, "It is these that Allah has favored among us?" [Soorah al-Anam (6): 53]
"And they say: 'Why is not this Quraan sent down to some great man of the two towns?" [Soorah az-Zukhruf (43): 31] and in Soorah al-Muminoon (23): 34, "If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily, you indeed would be losers."

This also shows one of the grave dangers of Hasad that Hasad hinders the person from following the truth and accepting advice from others just as the Hasad of the disbelievers prevented them from accepting Islam.

Evil Nature of the person: Some people, even though they may not be harmed or threatened by other people's success, grieve when they hear about some good happening to others, and enjoy in their adversities. Neither do they seek progress for themselves nor do they wish others to progress!! Such kind of defect is difficult to cure for the reason behind their evil attitude is the evil nature of the person which does not allow him to accept other people's success.
