Never Ever Give Your Cell Phone to Anyone for Making a Small Call

Dear All,

Recently a friend of mine went to visit a patient in a Govt Hospital in Islamabad. A crying person who seemed distressed approached him. He told him that he had an emergency patient and wanted to make a call but had no balance in his cell. He pleaded him to let him make a local call. My friend felt pity on him and gave him his cell phone. The stranger went a few paces away and made a call. He came back thanked my friend and returned his cell phone.

Same day in the evening Islamabad Police arrested my friend. It was then revealed that stranger had made a ransom call for release of some person whom he had abducted. My friend is an industrialist himself, owner of a few factories and petrol pumps. He is well placed in the higher circles of Islamabad. He remained in the lock up for  a fortnight and has now been released on bail.

Please watch out for your own safety and do not let any one have an access to your phones.

KINDLY DO A FAVOUR TO ALL YOUR NEAR AND DEAR ONES AND FORWARD THIS MAIL TO THEM.

Have a safe day.

Best Regards.

FW: Should You Ask for Leadership

Subject: FW: Should You Ask for Leadership

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "He who has been used as an ameer (leader) over a group while there is among them a person with whom Allah is pleased more (than him), he has indeed betrayed Allah, His Messenger and the group of Muslims. [Al-Hakim]

This hadith was graded Sahih by Imam Suyuti. It highlights the grave responsibility on the shoulders of the one who is in a position of power and authority. Leadership belongs to the person who is better in Islam.

Another hadith tells us that we should not ask for leadership. Should it be thrust upon us, Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) will help us to discharge its responsibilities. But should we ask for it, we are asking for trouble.

The person in a position of leadership is responsible not only for those people who are under his care, but also for the land they live on, the air they breathe, and even for the fish in the water that flows through the land. Should the factories in that land be allowed to pollute rivers with toxic waste, will he not be held accountable before Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) for the lives that were harmed under his care?

The litmus test regarding worthiness of leadership is to see whether the person in question is asking for it or not. If a person asks for leadership, they probably are not aware of the responsibilities that come with the position and, therefore, probably won't do a good job.

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said to Abu Dharr Ghifari (radi Allahu anhu), to save him from a position: "Verily, you are weak and it (leadership) is a responsibility." [Sahih Muslim] When the pious and ascetic Abu Dharr was considered weak by Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) where would we stand?

I've written to you many times about how endurance running is bad for your heart and lungs.

Forget Your Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is an example of how we simply were not built for the world that we live in.

Stressors in our native environment usually were very brief, lasting only minutes. And you were built for these sudden events. You're adrenaline got your blood pressure up, and you handled the problem.

Your blood pressure didn't stay high for days or weeks.

In today's world, we worry, we try to plan… we have stressors that can last for weeks, months, even years. A good example is a 30-year mortgage.

But mainstream medicine's drug-based "solutions" may cause more damage to your body than high blood pressure itself. Beta blockers, ACE inhibitors and diuretics have side effects that include chronic fatigue, depression, kidney damage, shortness of breath and even impotence.

Fortunately there are natural ways you can lower your blood pressure and help your body return to its native state.

Take beetroot, for example. When you eat just a small amount, the beetroot is mixed with your saliva and bacteria on your tongue. This combo turns into nitric oxide (NO). It's the chemical from the lining of your blood vessels that makes them expand, lowering your blood pressure.

There are dozens of other foods and nutrients like this that you can use to keep your blood pressure low. Barton Publishing has put together a comprehensive collection of them in The High Blood Pressure Remedy Report. It contains natural high blood pressure remedies most doctors aren't even aware of. To check it out for yourself, click here.

Today I want to tell you about how it affects your muscles.

Skeletal muscles are the ones you can see, and the ones you exercise when you move. They attach to your bones via tendons and power up your whole body.

Strong skeletal muscles fill you with strength and potential. They give you the feeling of confidence and they ensure you stay mobile and independent.

And the strength of your leg muscles plays a lead role in how long you'll live.

A study from the University of Pittsburgh followed nearly 2,300 people for five years. It found that low quadriceps muscle strength made you 51 percent more likely to die.1

Two other studies found that leg strength offsets the risk of death for people with certain illnesses.

In the first study, the only two things that predicted death were age and quadriceps muscle strength.2

The second found that for people who had congestive heart problems, the ones with the weakest quadriceps muscles were 13 times more likely to die within two years.3

Your muscles are made up of different kinds of fibers that you use for different purposes.

Traditional cardio or aerobic exercise uses the smaller muscle fibers because they are more oxygen efficient, and don't tire as easily as large muscle fibers.

If you continue to do moderate aerobic workouts, your body will ignore the larger fibers, leaving them weak.

One study even found that long-duration running makes your leg muscles deteriorate.

Take a look at this new study that followed endurance runners during the Trans-Europe Foot Race in 2009.

They had a mobile MRI machine scan these endurance athletes every day. When the race was over, instead of the runners' muscles getting stronger, their leg muscles had degenerated.

They had lost 7 percent of their muscle mass.4

This is why doing aerobics and running for hours on end is not a good idea.

The solution to building stronger muscles that will keep you going for years to come is my PACE program. It's why I write to you about it as often as I can.

With PACE, you challenge your cardiopulmonary peak a little bit at a time. Your body will then respond with added lung, heart and especially muscle strength while you rest.

If you don't remember, PACE stands for Progressively Accelerating Cardiopulmonary Exertion.

It draws on those larger muscle fibers, which generate more power. By exercising the larger fibers, you get stronger muscles that can handle heavy-duty demands.

Strengthening your muscles this way is the most important thing you can do to keep your mobility and independence as you get older.

In the past few months, we've been doing some testing with PACE. What we've discovered is that the PACE principle works best when you do three sets of exercises.

The first is a warm-up set that lasts from 4-6 minutes. The second is a ramp-up set that should last for 4 minutes. You exert yourself to the point where you could still talk, but you're out of breath.

The third is for peak exertion. It should only last from 2-4 minutes, and you should be pumping hard enough by the end that you could only grunt a word or two if you had to.

Challenging your peak this way – a little bit each time, followed by periods of rest – is what causes your body to adapt by adding muscle mass and cardiopulmonary capacity.

In between sets, you want to recover so that your heart rate is about 30 beats per minute above your resting rate. It will take only 30 seconds for some, and longer for others. But don't worry how long it takes at first. Your body will progress as you get more fit.

This is one of the things that makes PACE different. You don't time your recovery in strict intervals. You recover fully, and then challenge yourself again during the next exertion period.

We've also structured a system to make PACE even more powerful.

We discovered that if you do three sets for three days in a row, you can improve your fitness exponentially, and grow a stronger heart and lungs even faster.

I call it PACE3 (PACE cubed), and it brings PACE to a new level.

Here's a representation of your daily workout (12 minutes):

The beauty of PACE3 is that it really comes down to just one minute of exertion – the last minute of the third set. Everything else you have done up to that point is just getting you ready to push yourself as hard as you possibly can for that one minute.

And that's when your body starts adapting and growing to meet the challenge.

So, instead of running your muscles into the ground, try adapting your workout to PACE3 for stronger, healthier legs and more mobility at any age.

You just have to apply the basic PACE3 principles:

1. Work out to your target exertion level; then rest.
2. Allow your body to truly rest and fully recover between sets of exertion.
3. Aim to progressively increase the intensity as your fitness level improves.
4. Accelerate your fitness by dialing up the intensity a little sooner in each workout.
5. Keep your total exertion time to 12 minutes.
6. Work out for three days in a row; then rest on the fourth day.

One thing to remember is that the last word in the acronym for PACE is exertion … not exercise. That's because "exercise" has negative connotations. We expect it to take a lot of time (and cardio training does take a lot of time).

We also get bored doing the same thing over and over again. Traditional exercise feels like a chore. And no one gets excited about doing chores.

So stop doing what bores you! PACE feels more like play. You can use any physical activity you choose, as long as it gets you pumping harder, not longer.

The focus is on that one moment in time when you challenge your peak of exertion – not on exercising for hours at a time. Your PACE workout never lasts for more than 12 minutes of total exertion, so you get more benefit in a fraction of the time!

The Ancient History and Healing Power of Green Tea

Green TeaHi Irshad,

What is only recently being recognized as a prized culinary health beverage in the West has been well known to the East for thousands of years.

The new science of nutrition is rediscovering the many acclaimed health benefits of these ancient green teas.

The oldest story on record tells us more than 4700 years ago the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung experienced green tea for the first time when some leaves happen to fall into his boiling water. As the story goes, the Emperor's enthusiasm about the tea caught on quickly.

Thousands of years later, a man named Lu Yu authored "The Book of Tea" around 780 AD. These same health claims reported by Lu Yu are only now being verified by Western scientific studies.

It may surprise you to learn that both green tea and black tea come from the same Camelia sinensis plant. It is the green tea leaves which represents the purest form of tea and contains less processing than black teas. Green tea is lightly steamed to help retain the beneficial phytonutrients and distinct flavor.

Once again, we find naturally simple is better.

Later, around the 16th Century, Venetian and Portuguese traders introduced the tea further west. But, not until the mid 17th Century did green tea become popular to tea-totters in London.

Today, the whole world knows of the amazing health benefits of green tea. The naturally high level of antioxidants released from the highly alkaline green tea leaves have been clinically shown to help ward of diabetes and heart disease, as well as cancer and obesity.

The bottom line is the less treated and processed the green tea leaves are, the greater natural healing qualities they have.

Green tea contains phytonutrients such as polyphenols, catechins, carotenoids, tocopherols, vitamin C, chromium, manganese, selenium and even zinc.

Cup of Green TeaVarious studies show promise for helping kidney stones, high blood pressure, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. Green tea actually helps rescue damaged brain cells in a process called Neurorescue or Neurorestoration.

This appears to be only the beginning of proving the many benefits of this natural healing wonder.

Obviously, western science will have to do many more studies before they "accept" what the ancients discovered a long, long time ago . . . which is for every unnatural health issue caused by man, Mama Nature has a natural cure.

Yours for excellent heath,

If Boiling Green Tea Depletes The Nutrients . . .

Why Not Eat Them???

The extraordinary health benefits of green tea leaves have been enjoyed by people for more than 4,000 years. Now, new science has proven those health benefits are even greater than anyone could have known before.

According to a recent breakthrough study on the super anti-oxidant power of green tea leaves, published on the "Journal of Food Biochemistry," green tea extracts can react to many different types of  "free radicals," making tea leaves the most highly potent anti-oxidant ever discovered.

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "A time will come when the nations (of the world) will surround you from every side, just as diners gather around the main dish. Somebody asked, 'Oh Messenger of Allah, will it be on account of our scarcity at that time?' He said, 'No, but you will be scum, like the scum of flood water. Feebleness will be in your hearts, and fear will be removed from the hearts of your enemies, on account of your love for the world, and your abhorrence of death.'" [Ahmad, Abu Dawud]

If you look at the state of Muslim lands today, this hadith appears to apply directly to us. The Muslim population of the world is huge, yet our lives or sensitivities do not count for much. It is other nations that are respected, revered or feared. This hadith tells us that being too in love with the things of this world and subsequently hating death, puts us in a position whereby our principles are compromised, and we no longer remain a force to be reckoned with.

Read carefully & you be the judge.
Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.
Why do we not know about that? Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations? As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat the fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc... It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types. Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer. It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.
The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that:
It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ... The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

Dear Irshad,

You want to be able to do what you want, when you want. And if you can't because you feel pain, it's very frustrating.

Most people believe that back pain is caused by an isolated event.

The thinking goes, "Since I didn't have pain before the activity, the activity must have caused the pain."

After that, what usually happens is that you imagine if you can get rid of the pain it will get rid of the problem.

But getting rid of the pain is like shooting the messenger. You want to get rid of the problem, not the pain.

Pain is just a signal. A sign that something is wrong and you need help.

To cure the underlying cause of your back pain, you need to find out whether the pain is nerve-based or tissue-based.

Nerve pain is normally some type of burning, tingling or pins-and-needles feeling. Tissue pain usually comes from a "knot" in your muscles, or a dull ache in a ligament or tendon.

Once you know what you have, you can find out why your body is creating the conditions for pain to occur.

For example, you may have been led to believe that you aren't getting enough calcium, when you really may be deficient in magnesium.

Without magnesium, you can't process calcium properly. Magnesium also is involved in the muscle-relaxation response, so if you don't have enough of it, trigger points are more likely to develop.

You need an adequate, balanced supply of both (along with potassium and other trace minerals) to keep your muscles loose and ready to move at will.

Another nutritional cause of back pain could be a lack of vitamin C. That's because collagen makes up your connective tissue, and you use vitamin C to make collagen. Adequate vitamin C can keep your back and other joints inflammation-free.

This is one of the reasons I talk to you all the time about getting the right amounts of the right nutrients into your body. It's important to be able to get up and get going without frustration.

But back pain can't always be reduced through nutrition alone.

To Your Good Health,

Al Sears, MD

Cancer. Just the word evokes fear.

The medical journals and newsletters I get are often filled with articles about cancer. It's the 800-pound gorilla in the room. Once someone mentions it, it's all you can think about.

And if you're a regular reader, you probably won't be surprised that most of the cancer-related articles in medical publications are only about drug treatments.

I've even read research on whether or not aspirin prevents cancer. I wonder who's sponsoring those studies … Are they really trying to tell us that people are getting cancer because of a deficiency of aspirin?

The truth is, cancer rates are not rising because we're deficient in man-made painkillers. Cancer is increasing because of our man-made toxic environment.

Here's something positive about cancer that most people don't know…

Cancer was almost unknown in ancient times.

Why is this good news? Because it means you don't need any scary science to prevent it.

In a study completed just recently and published in the journal Nature, researchers looked at tissue samples from hundreds of Egyptian mummies. There should have been evidence of cancer in all of them, according to modern cancer statistics. And mummification would have preserved any sign of tumors.

But instead of finding cancer in nearly every mummy … they found only a single case. The hundreds of other mummies showed no sign of cancer at all.1

These results would be impossible if cancer were not an entirely modern plague. Statistically, it could not happen.

And it wasn't because Egyptians didn't live long enough to get cancer. The mummies had evidence of age-related problems like brittle bones and hardened arteries.

What we should be doing today is trying to mimic the environment we had back then. That's what we should be paying attention to.

Researchers from some of the largest institutions in Texas are trying to help. They recently revealed how cancer begins. It starts with weakened cells.

Strands of DNA sometimes get broken through your body's natural processes. Your cells then send signals to your body to repair your DNA. If the response is deficient, or no help comes at all, those cells become vulnerable to cancer.2

What happens today that did not happen in out native environment is that those breaks occur a lot more often. They're caused by things like environmental pollutants and chemical ingredients in food. Our bodies haven't adapted to the huge increase in these man-made toxins over a very short period.

So let me be as clear as I can: Cancer isn't a "normal" part of life. Toxins and chemicals are interfering with your natural ability to defend yourself.

The most important thing you can do is to strengthen your cells, so they're more disease-resistant. And that means making sure your body has the energy and the nutrients to repair and maintain those cells.

The three most important nutrients you need to keep your cells strong are also the ones chronically deficient in today's world. They are vitamin C, vitamin D and CoQ10.

1. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that disarms damaging free radicals before they can attack healthy cells and stimulate tumor growth.

We also now know that the protective caps on the ends of your DNA, called telomeres, are very sensitive to this kind of damage. The shorter your telomeres, the older your cells act and the more susceptible they are to becoming cancerous. The new, exciting discovery about vitamin C is that it's very effective at defending you against this process and protecting your DNA.

We get some vitamin C from our food, but not nearly enough. The foods with the most vitamin C include dark green, leafy vegetables, and "superfruits" like the acerola cherry. Also, you probably don't think of them this way, but peppers are the kings of vegetable vitamin C. Watercress is also a little-known but rich source of vitamin C. If you choose to supplement, try to get 1,500 mg twice a day if you're healthy. If you're under a lot of stress, or if you are sick, you can take as much as 20,000 mg per day.

2. Low Vitamin D levels are strongly linked to cancer. A report out of a university in Nebraska showed that vitamin D has the potential to lower the risk of all cancers in women by 77 percent.3

Researchers at the University of California San Diego found you can lower your risk of breast cancer by 50 percent, and colon cancer by more than 65 percent, simply by boosting your vitamin D levels through sunlight, diet or supplements.4,5

A Harvard-sponsored report published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute revealed that when men raise their vitamin D intake, they can lower their overall risk of cancer death by 29 percent, drop rates of "digestive tract" cancers by 43 percent (throat, stomach and colon), and reduce death rates from these cancers by 45 percent.6

The best source of vitamin D is sunshine. Your skin produces vitamin D when the sun's rays shine on you. Ten to 20 minutes of sun get's you a full day's supply of it. To supplement with vitamin D, make sure you take the natural form, D3. I recommend at least 2,000 IU per day.

3. CoQ10 is one of the most overlooked nutrients. The government doesn't even have a recommended daily intake for it. But it's the fuel your cells use to make energy. That means it's the primary source of energy for the immune cells that get suppressed by cancer. CoQ10 restores their ability to fight back and attack cancer cells. Like vitamin C, it's also a powerful antioxidant that blocks free radicals from damaging your DNA.

Besides helping to prevent cancer, there are many clinical trials in which CoQ10 helps heal people who already have cancer. In one, researchers in Denmark studied a group of breast cancer patients. They gave them CoQ10, plus a combination of other antioxidants and essential fatty acids.

The entire group had a partial remission of the cancer. Two of the patients received larger doses of CoQ10 (390 mg) and their tumors disappeared.7 In no way am I saying stop your cancer treatment and only take CoQ10. What I am showing you is the power of this important nutrient against cancer.

The best way to get CoQ10 is by eating red meat from grass-fed animals. Grain-fed meat is not a good source of CoQ10. If you want to supplement, the form you get is very important. I recommend 50 mg of the ubiquinone form, which is 8 times stronger and is better absorbed than the old form.

To Your Good Health,

Al Sears, MD

Calcium is everywhere these days. It's hard to get away from it even if you try. They put it in bread, milk, orange juice, pasta, yogurt, toothpaste, chewing gum, snack crackers and granola bars... it's even in your water, depending on where you live.

That's a lot of calcium.

But supplementing with even more calcium is not a good idea.

A review done by the British Medical Journal carefully analyzed 11 different calcium supplementation studies. The BMJ found that taking more than 500 mg a day increased heart attacks by 31 percent.1

Those supplementing with calcium were also more likely to have more than one heart attack.

Another study looked at 1,471 women over five years. Half took 1 gram of calcium a day, and half took a placebo.2

The women assigned to take calcium supplements were more than twice as likely to have heart attacks compared with those who took a placebo.

The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture found that most Americans take in around 800 mg of calcium every day. Fortunately, that's about how much you need if you're a healthy adult.

And as long as you eat anywhere near a normal diet, you don't need calcium supplements. You get plenty of calcium through the food you eat.

My favorite way to get my daily dose is to eat lots of dark green leafy vegetables like mustard greens and broccoli.

Some other good sources of calcium are:

Food
Amount of calcium
per 100 g (3.5 ounces)
Parmesan Cheese
(fresh, not processed)
1,220 mg
Sesame Seeds
1,160 mg
Swiss cheese
950 mg
Sardines
460 mg
Almonds
250 mg
Parsley
330 mg
Oysters
190 mg
Brazil Nuts
180 mg
Pistachios
130 mg
Lemon slices
110 mg
Broccoli
80 mg
Cabbage
80 mg
Turnips
75 mg
Kidney Beans
70 mg
Blackberries
60 mg

Also, I like to use spices when I cook, and two very flavorful spices in their powdered form – curry (645 mg) and mustard (335 mg) – are loaded with calcium.

To make sure you retain the calcium you take in, try to get 400 mg a day of magnesium. It works in your bones to balance your calcium.

So have a beer every now and then and relax. (Yes, beer has calcium, too – usually between 15 and 20 mg in a 12-ounce bottle).
